Remnants of the Past

Chuma K. Msindo

This was an interesting experience where I got an opportunity to talk about how certain spaces perpetuated the segregation Apartheid sought out to achieve. Although I take a look at how apartheid affected people of colour in the past, it's important to note how the ideologies of apartheid still finds it's way in our lives today.

For some of the spaces I explored, I found it difficult to answer the question about 'What are the remnants of the past ?', but I think understanding how these spaces became a remnant as well as acknowledging it's impact in our lives would give our society an opportunity to improve on inclusivity.
